Shaving Tips

Some doctors recommend shaving a two inch square area directly under the penis. Should you undertake this procedure, I recommend you shave the entire scrotum.  Upon arrival at the doctors office, at the proper time, the area will be washed with Betadine surgical scrub and then draped.  Complete removal of the hair makes working in the area easier, and infection control is enhanced. This should be done the evening before or the morning of the procedure.

Always moisten the hairs before shaving. Allow the hair to absorb water for about three minutes in the tub or shower. This plumps up the hair and makes it easier to cut. Always use a shaving cream or rich-lathering soap. This will keep the hairs surrounded by moisture. It reduces friction and enhances the softening of your skin.

Use a high quality disposable razor. As the scrotum is a difficult area to shave, only stroke in the direction of hair growth to help avoid irritation.

Keep repeat strokes to a minimum.  Once you have shaved and rinsed the shaving cream off, towel dry.  Apply a high quality moisturizing lotion to your scrotum. That's it, your now ready to be cleaved.
